In order to keep up with happenings in the field of environmental science students will be required to keep a log of current events called a scrapesbook. Students will need a composition notebook to record their log entries. This project will begin with the first week of school and continue throughout the year. Below are the guidelines for the project.

• One current event article will be collected each chapter unless otherwise stated
  
• Articles must relate to the chapter currently being studied
• Log entries must include
• source of the article
• title and brief summary of the article (what the article is about)
• explanation of connections to topics already studied (how the article relates to what we are studying)
• page numbers to show connections (where the information is in the textbook)

Scrapesbooks will be collected and progress assessed with the completion of each unit.
