Welcome to AP Environmental Science! PDF Print E-mail

Welcome to the world of Advanced Placement Environmental Science at Green Run High School. Perhaps the best thing about this course is that it extends beyond the walls of the school and into the community. From there it extends across our country and around the world. But what exactly is environmental science?

Environmental science is an interdisciplinary science that uses concepts and information from natural sciences such as biology, chemistry, earth science, and ecology; mathematical sciences such as geometry, math analysis, and probability and statistics; social sciences such as economics, ethics, geography, government, and history to help us understand how the earth works, learn how we are affecting the earth's life-support systems for us and other forms of life, and propose and evaluate solutions to the environmental problems we face in the world today.

The chapter links below are where I will be posting information associated with the objectives and assignments for all 25 chapters from Miller's Living in the Environment, 16th edition. This will help you keep up with the heavy workload for this course. We will try to maintain the pace that is required but at times adjustments will be made to improve the coverage of necessary material. We will be flexible and adapt to changes as they come about.
